I have a 2013 Fleetwood Bounder 36' ( V10 Ford Engine)that I purchased in 2023 in Ontario, from a dealer but did not have the ability to ensure the doghouse was solid. While travelling to BC Vancouver Island in June of 2023 we realized the Dog House was quite broken, hidden from the carpet glued on let alone how loud the engine would get when more of the transmission was required for climbing and declining the mtns. Low and behold when we were settled on the island, I removed the dog house and realized that the this cover was beyond repair and I would require a new one. After wks of speaking with the manufacturer and salvage yds throughout Canada/USA there were none available. Manufacturer had no options for me. I then went to custom fabricating shops on the island and found a company that would custom make me one out of aluminium. I acquired the schematic from Fleetwood for this part (Dog House) and with what was left of the exisiting one, a new aluminium one was built. I had to insulate this one as even the old one was not insulated from the manufacturer.
What a difference in sound now let alone a solid DOG HOUSE that one could stand on now and not step through to the top engine area. I have attached some pictures for your viewing if interested in knowing more.
It stills house an opening to get into the top of the engine like the old one. It was not difficult in inserting it into the space. I can be reached at : [email protected]
