Flat tow TOAD and motorcycle question

Yes I have done lots of research. I believe the vehicles I listed including the Nissan Frontier standard transmission 2wd is flat towable. My car choice would be a standard transmission Corolla or a standard Yaris. I like the idea of having the hitch mounted motorcycle rack but then I need the...

1st time motor home owners, seeking advice on must have equipment.

There is never a good place to hang shower towels. We have one of these and love it. https://www.rvupgradestore.com/Stromberg-Carlson-Ladder-Mount-Clothesline-p/03-0652.htm Also, a couple E-bikes towed on a rack have been great for us. Really simple. Enjoy, Ken

Confused on Number of Grey Tanks

Sometimes bumpers are very close to cut down on the things hanging on it. You may be surprised how much additional things like spare tires, bikes, coolers and other items affects the tongue weight. Anything behind the axles, takes away tongue weight. Also, not sure how thick those bumpers are...

    Bike Rack

There are many really good options available, most made domestically. Thule, Yakima, Kuat. I just ordered a BackStage made by Rockymount out of Grand Junction. We have Wrangler with a spare tire mounted on the back and the BackStage will swing the rack and bikes out of the way.

Bike Rack Between MH and Toad

I just switched to keeping the bikes behind the coach as opposed to having them on the toad. I used a Draw Tite double receiver with the Kuat NV 2.0 rack on top and a Blue Ox Ascent tow bar in the bottom receiver. I was worried about clearance and ordered an extension, but found I didn't need...

    St Louis advisory

Traveling in a 25 ft class C was unable to visit the St Louis Arch. NO rv campers or even your large truck can park. Too large for parking garage, no street parking and if you have a bike rack ( was advised by police officer) not to leave unattended. Many streets closed but never saw any work...

    Bicycle Storage

We use a dual hitch for the ebike rack (We have a steep driveway and scrape otherwise). The only draw back we have is the bikes are heavier than normal bikes, thus the on and off is more involved. Use to be lifting 70 lbs to eye level was no big deal...but now I must make strange noises to...

Alert WARNING: Using a bike cover while on a bike rack while driving can KILL someone

On our first trip around the country, we had Thule 2 bike rack on the back of the Honda CRV. I bought one of the more expensive covers (over $100) and it looked good. Until our first stop in a big city. We drove the toad to the local DunkinDonuts for coffee. For some reason I had to step behind...

    Dry Weights

I've been poking around looking at various UVW and it seems this should be standardized but apparently is not. The UVW for the 2016 Micro Lite 25BHKS I was looking at comes in at 4406lb if I subtract the GVWR of 5729lb from the maximum allowable cargo of 1323lb. I don't know if Flagstaff...

    Motorcyle Carrier and hitch weight

Bommo, I used one on my 93 Dutchmen class A with no problems after I strengthened the receiver with a stiffener that kept the bike and rack from rocking side to side. I also used straps from each end of the carrier to the motorhome frame.

Do you carry the bike on a rack on the back of the coach or tow. If you carry, which carrier do you use?

Resolved Dash A/C not blowing cold air

While on our trip in '21, we had the compressor go out up in Boardman Oregon (about as far from home as possible). The compressor locked up and shredded the belt. The engine overheated and alarms went off as the engine shut down about 500 ft from the entry to the campground. I had an extra...

    Im selling stuff

All those things that seemed important at the time, or that I have been hanging on to because they were useful, or there was an emotional attachment - they are on the block. Im enjoying ridding myself if excess possessions, many of which connote work by their very existence (welding tanks, flail...

At least this time the trucker honked!!!

So happy to leave Yakima, WA and head east and excited to get to Coeur D'Alene I've been wanting to see for a long time. Didn't sleep well last night, up early, 30 minutes into the drive I was struggling. I got my 8th wind and felt better after getting more caffeine installed, pressed for the 4...

Travel Trailers With Mounted Generator Question

Greetings Tex I have done what you are considering and made a bonded plug to run my inverter genny with my EMS. I have also fab’d a complete new bumper to mount my genny and a bike rack. It’s on the rear left corner just as you are thinking about. I can run it while mounted to the trailer as...

    Rear hitch on Sanibel

The weight limits (pulling and vertical load) should be on the hitch (and in the brochuer) if it is a factory installed item. Regardless of the capacity, when you load the rear of a 5th wheel you are unloading the weight on the pin box hitch. So if you are planning to tow something with tongue...
