Spec chassis hitches with dual receivers

lots of folks out there carry bikes and flat tow. Ideally, it would be nice to not have to purchase a dual hitch receiver to split the single receiver into two receivers, one for the bike rack and the other for the tow bar. Just spec the chassis for two, 2” receivers, stacked a few inches apart...

Alert WARNING: Using a bike cover while on a bike rack while driving can KILL someone

I have a Yakima Four-Timer and carry it in the truck hitch with no issues, but I’ve not tried using a cover for this reason as well as the fact that they tend to block visibility of your toads tail lights, which can otherwise usually be observed through the bike wheels. Still, it’s a hassle and...

    RVing with E-Bikes

Today was gadgets and add-ons day. Among other things, for my wifes bike I got a cell phone mount as per her request. I’m going with a cycling GPS. I chose a simple one because I don’t need all the extra capabilities of the latest/greatest...

    Bike rack options?

Some hillbilly engineering going one here (did I mention it might be ugly?), but I’m only in it for around $115 and it will keep the bikes safe. I bought the rack in the first pic used for $40 just to get the vertical support parts - it has everything for two bikes but I just used that much of...

    Hundreds of E bike companies??????

Hi Jim thanks for the pictures. Yep there are hundreds of different companies at this time. My wife and I have been riding Harleys for over 30 years. Yes she rode her own, a custom FXDWG. Then later a highly customized Duece. We just gave them up in the past 8 years. We traveled the USA by...

    Bike rack options?

This was our setup when we had Ebikes using a Kuat nv2.0 rack on back of the coach above the tow bar. We went back to pedal type bikes and use the same setup now.

1st time motor home owners, seeking advice on must have equipment.

There is never a good place to hang shower towels. We have one of these and love it. https://www.rvupgradestore.com/Stromberg-Carlson-Ladder-Mount-Clothesline-p/03-0652.htm Also, a couple E-bikes towed on a rack have been great for us. Really simple. Enjoy, Ken

Confused on Number of Grey Tanks

Sometimes bumpers are very close to cut down on the things hanging on it. You may be surprised how much additional things like spare tires, bikes, coolers and other items affects the tongue weight. Anything behind the axles, takes away tongue weight. Also, not sure how thick those bumpers are...

    Dry Weights

I've been poking around looking at various UVW and it seems this should be standardized but apparently is not. The UVW for the 2016 Micro Lite 25BHKS I was looking at comes in at 4406lb if I subtract the GVWR of 5729lb from the maximum allowable cargo of 1323lb. I don't know if Flagstaff...

Potential TOAD Setup THOR ARIA 40'and 2021 JEEP Wrangler High Altitude

Okay, things did not go as planned. Hitch Tube bent down. We are way under tongue weight but maybe the rear positioning of the bikes and bounce compounded with the extensions caused the problem. Going to need to have the hitch replaced. The question is how can I safely accomplish this...

    Bike Rack

There are many really good options available, most made domestically. Thule, Yakima, Kuat. I just ordered a BackStage made by Rockymount out of Grand Junction. We have Wrangler with a spare tire mounted on the back and the BackStage will swing the rack and bikes out of the way.

Resolved Dash A/C not blowing cold air

While on our trip in '21, we had the compressor go out up in Boardman Oregon (about as far from home as possible). The compressor locked up and shredded the belt. The engine overheated and alarms went off as the engine shut down about 500 ft from the entry to the campground. I had an extra...

    Spare Tire

...how are you mounting your wheel/ tire to your rig? I bought a spare tire but don’t have a rim nor a mount. I don’t want to use the receiver hitch becuase I use it for bike racks so I need a way to attach it above the rear bumper. The cheap ones available online I heard won’t last too long. Thanks
