I got sick of having to move or remove the rack off our Jeep so I went with this setup. I've been using a Kuat bike rack with a Reese double receiver and two of the anti rattle clamps. Works great and nice to see the bikes in the camera while traveling.
I have taken several 5 day 350 mile old style bike trips with all the gear packed on. It was great fun in my younger years and nice to do with my sons and their cousins. Now at 59 I'll take my DelSol E-Bike every time. My wife and I travel with ours on a nice rack and we have a great time...

If you’ve looked and considering the Lectric XL Lite, I think you can pull the trigger and not be disappointed. This is a very solid built little machine. It folds to a really neat little package that can almost get lost in a big rig storage bay (big “almost”). I would have already bought...
"I noticed people were avoiding me like the plague but no one signaled me of an issue," Now that is up setting. They were probably too busy taking videos of the sparks! What is wrong with people these days!
I am getting a new B with an electronic rear view mirror. Haven't had one in 12 years...
I’m looking at the spec on the lectric base model not the .2. It says about 46 lb with battery. Battery wt 7 lb. 39 lb w/o battery. That might be manageable. Anyone have this model? Is it useable or just too light weight. Getting a bike on & off the rack is my big problem.
Hi all, new to the site and can use some help. I'm looking at a 1994 Coleman Cape cod pop up camper with hard sides, its in great condition, has a new roof mounted air conditioner and the factory four bike rack on the roof, comes with a Coleman cooler, no heater, 10 gal water storage tank. What...
I did the dual rack for two whole trips. We had a Car Tow Dolly, and mounting in the hitch of the toad would have been a problem. For us (me especially ) the Tow Dolly thing was a bust. Sold it after the second trip and purchased a Jeep to flat tow.
There are multiple ways to carry bikes on...
IMHO I think the 1UpUSA rack is the best way to go. Easy to add a duel hitch riser for the tow bar and the bike rack above. The 1Up is very easy to use and secure. Have traveled a lot of miles with no issue at all.
I'm the person that originally asked about the hooks. Unless your RV is built better than mine you cannot hang anything heavy from the racks. I hung 2 beach chairs on out top rack and the next day it was hanging off the wall. The only screws that hit anything were the middle ones. We tried...
Thanks Neal for posting this warning! I am taking delivery of the same Kuat NV 2.0 bike rack next week. Since this is the first time for me to haul bikes behind the toad I have been wondering about a cover for the bikes too. I had not considered, or even thought about, the added stress...
Great idea for a forum as RV’ing can lead to a somewhat sedentary and indulgent lifestyle. Adding the new e-bikes to our activities list has helped considerably. We’ve only had them for two months and I am already stronger, have more endurance and am more coordinated. The after-ride beers don’t...
Thanks for the reminders Neal! I just got my new e-bike and a new rack (1up). I made sure it was rated for being behind a motorhome and so far have not had any issues. 1up states can't be used with bikes that have fenders but as long as they are not overly long fenders, it's fine. They have...
Looks like you have electric bikes. They are turned to the camera so I cannot determine make / model. As we are in that mode, can I ask a couple questions. First of all, what kind are they...secondly, are you happy with them. Lastly, do you use a conventional bike rack? Thanks in advance...
those bumpers are usually not made to hold more than 100 lbs.
That's barely enough for a spare tire and nothing more (except the sewage hose lol)
Even a bike rack is a big NO-NO
Thanks for your response! I believe the rack and two bikes will weigh a total of maybe 150 to 170 pounds. The rack is very sturdy with a locking mechanism that locks into the 2 inch receiver that keeps the whole rack from bouncing around. I know the 4x4 bumper is pretty thin but I would think...
Little off-topic. I had a bike rack that connected to the bumper on my Montana 5er and probably 20,000 miles with two bikes on it without a problem. A friend bought an Arctic Fox which better built 5er than my Montana and lost his bumper in less than 100 miles. Now I do recommend to use an...
Welcome to RVF, @Tkroper; glad you've joined us here.
As for the best way to tow a Mini Cooper and a dirt bike, two thoughts come to mind; an enclosed trailer that both will fit in and a coach-mounted rack for the dirt bike and a tow setup on the Mini Cooper. I think the MC can be towed...
I use the Yakima Longhaul. Very sturdy. Since I am a security freak, I use the through the frame lock on the bike rack, plus the two shells are secured with a bycycle Chan that runs through the wheel , throughh the frame and is secured to the vertical part of the bike rack. The cover is tied on...
