We are big boondocking fans vs RV parks. So HarvestHosts w the golf course option works great for us. Since some HH sites have noise/generator restrictions, our RV has solar panels and works great there.
We did same - in the past we got a lot of good out of Passport America and KOA because of family that we visited in certain areas. The last long trip we made, we got good Sam and it paid for itself in that one trip. What we do now is buy discounts as needed, and only if we think we'll use it...
@bydnar feel free to use your referral link for HarvestHosts. I'm all for people here that bring business to companies to earn commission on referrals so don't be bashful ALL. If you want to be clear it is an affiliated link that's up to you, we all want to help each other and HH does do...
... but they told me simply throw a towel over each panel and watch the PV drop on your phone. So today as I'm boondocking at a HarvestHosts overnight in the heat, running both AC's on my new dual Victron inverter setup, 4 x 330ah Victron batteries, NO GEN... I should test the panels. I...
We are Canadian thus, we winter south and summer north as you will be doing. We have visited a couple of HarvestHosts but ended up spending about what it would have cost us at a regular park. We know that we are not obligated to make a purchase but felt a little sheepish by not and what we...
...and buying a bottle or two, plus dinner, was a lot more money that just paying for a site at an average campground - one that has full hookups versus boondocking.
So, I don't have a problem with HarvestHosts, generally I like them. But, they just don't work for us and the way we travel anymore.
...I use the 40ft for the campground reservation. When you reserve a camp site they'll ask if you have slideouts, tow vehicle, etc.
I highly recommend the KOA value card, it saves you 10% for each reservation. Some like KOA's some don't, I do. The only other one would be HarvestHosts in my...
...Indy car (grossly overweight). I've been to Quartzsite and loved it. I'd like to seek out more BLM lands when in areas that have those. HarvestHosts without the need for GEN runs.
I haven't boondocked much other than events like EAA AirVenture, Quartzsite, and ABQ Balloon Fiesta and those...
...resale which is more of a concern to me than a high time generator. I have over 600 hours on mine and I'm on it now driving AC's on a harvesthosts stop in hot Texas. I am more relieved that my gen is exercising and being used and all the fluids are flowing. I use my OASIS burner regularly...

We have implemented a HarvestHosts No-Show Policy, and it is very important that you adhere to it. Please see the details below.

...to RVForums.com @uxstephanie - thanks for finding and joining us. I'm in Virginia, not really aware of much for boondocking other than HarvestHosts for one night stays a vineyards and golf courses. You could try using a campground finding web site or app such as AllStays or search this forum...
...890 about an hour before I want to stop, find something suitable, give them a call to reserve my site, and roll on in. I also have a HarvestHosts membership and I like the concept but don’t use it much.
For destinations, if I want to stay in a given area for a certain length of time (a week...
...up the work on the Wrangler this weekend so it's Toad ready. Then between now and July I'll try a few weekend trip to different local HarvestHosts to get used to the Toad.

...and pass up a lot of other possibilities that might be far more rewarding.
One membership I would say is worth looking into is HarvestHosts. Its the exact oposite of a 1000 Trails type operation as every stop is different and most have a lot to offer. And its only $100/year - it can pay...
I have heard of them. :) We haven't signed up for any of the memberships that are available yet, because we are trying to figure out which one would best fit our needs. We don't golf and we don't drink, so we aren't sure if thatone would be worth it or not.
...upholstery, but overall the RV appears to be in pretty good shape. Any advice would be welcome! We plan to take short trips at first, maybe 2-3 days, then build up to longer voyages. HarvestHosts seems like a great way to get started, many locations in our area (Pacific Northwest).
Cheers, Paul
...and chatting with @redbaron about charge rates for LiFePO4 batteries I found myself shortly thereafter in a crisis. Boondocking at a HarvestHosts location, it's hot, and using this powerful new setup. I went to do some cooking and got an inverter 2 fault. Computer + Convection oven wasn't...
