Question First time RV owner, Coachman Freelander

Engine oil capacity on RVs varies widely - anywhere from 7 qts to 14 gallons. In addition to the oil there is the size/cost of filters that will vary. Need to know what engine you have to provide specific input. Like Neal said, sometimes the RV lifestyle does have some extra RV costs involved...

    A possibly too long introduction

The 24F has the bed in a full wall slide along with the kitchen/dining area. I've read about how horrid those corner beds can be. Every time I looked at one online for the 3rd, 4th, 5th time, I said NO! I was hoping to buy a 1-3 year old motorhome, but it appears that the 22XG floor plan is...

    Lippert Schwab Tech slide ass’y

We bought a 2022 Freelander in Feb. of this year. Right from the get go the large slide did not operate correctly. Returned it to Ron Hoover in Pharr, Texas where we bought it. That and four other problems were not corrected. Hoover said slide needed lubrication. Left on a long trip and finally...

Jude, I love what you did with the "back" bedroom. Is the overhead bunk comfortable enough as a full-time bedroom? I haven't bought my motorhome yet. Hoping to catch a good deal on used next year after the pandemic buyers want to sell theirs. My current favorite is a Jayco Redhawk SE 22A.

Thanks for the reply. Jason Johnson is the service warranty manager for the Coachman Freelander line. I began speaking with him in June and all he does is promise, promise, promise. I have spoken with him perhaps a dozen times, not including the many times I left voice mails, which he usually...

Question How to get more detailed information

...a shorter RV. I'm a bit nervous about driving something over 24-25 ft. I want a Chevy chassis so I am limited to Coachmen Leprechaun and Freelander, Forest River Forester and Sunseeker, Thor Chateau and Four Seasons, and Jayco Redhawk. I did see a 2017 Redhawk model 26 X1 for sale online...

    A possibly too long introduction

Hey Jim and Trish! Thanks for the welcome. I see we have something in common - love for shepherds. I have my third now, Jasper Blue. He was my first 8-week puppy I raised. My previous two had been shelter rescues, the first one at 6 months, the second was about 4 years. In looking at the floor...

The Coachmen Brand On A Scale Of 1 To 10?

Hard to give a rating. I will tell you I like my 2021 Freelander 22 I like the layout of the Mini-toy hauler/murphy bed. I use it to haul my Bicycles. (main reason I bought it). Most of the exterior has held up well for the 45k miles I have on it. (The paint on the bumper rusted off the first...

Sorry for the late reply. We are going through this with out TT and just learned that there was a bulletin put out by Lippert. They know there is an issue with their slides and instead of putting out a recall, they put out a bulletin. That’s great for this of us still under warranty but many...

    A possibly too long introduction

Hi I’m Jude, I’m new here! IK this thread is older but I just purchased a 2021 Freelander 22xg and I LOVE it! The floor plan is what got me. I had been looking to go full time RV’ing since I’m semi retired. I wanted something small enough to boondock around urban areas. Yes it’s basic in some...

Question What type of R.V. to buy

Hi Dave, I just purchased my 2021 freelander 22xg after researching for 2 years. I’m FT and a newbie! I’m boondocking in urban areas and I love it! It’s basic but I personally don’t think it’s too basic. I thought same used vs new but I paid $79k and these are hot hot hot right now. People...

...to fold up when the slide was in. Started the rounds of looking again at all the Chevy Class Cs. As of now I am leaning toward a Coachmen Freelander 22XG. I’m feeling better about the no slides and shorter length. It will just be myself and my two dogs. And I’m imagining interior mods I can...

Roxi, Welcome to the family. From a SJ man from Cape May, NJ. I have a friend ( single female ) that I directed to " CruiseAmerica " to consider the purchase of their rental fleet ( All Thors ) which are removed from rental, refurbished and sold with a waranty . They offer all their sizes for...
