Question Protection package for new camper

...a REAL money maker for the Finance Manager when he's putting the hard sell on you to buy all that crap. :ROFLMAO: If you want an extended warranty I'd ask the dealer if they offer any AFTERMARKET extended warranties. I know at the Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram dealers that I sell to now, they...

...pre-owned would be more affordable than new. It might be worth it to go that route. One disadvantage would be no warranty on the unit except for the engine & drive train(?). Do you recommend purchasing an extended warranty in that case? Have not looked into it, but thinking it might be pricey.

Should you purchase a extended warranty?

The only one I can think of is for the Freightliner Chassis. Hope I'm not making a mistake by not getting it.....

Thor Class C full time Living Questions

What specific model in the Thor line are you looking? Note that many of the Thor class 'C' motorhomes are not suitable for full time living. The interior materials are just not of a robust quality to stand up to living in full time. For example, most of the Thor class 'C' motorhomes on their...

Looking for warranty recommendations for RV and Tire/Wheel

When we had our Newmar we did purchase a Cornerstone extended service contract. My thinking was there was just so many things that could go wrong on a 43' all electric DP and I wanted close to full coverage after the 1 year manufacturer warranty expired. Never used the ESP. Newmar covered a...

So new, I don’t even own a trailer yet!

I joined because I have questions about purchasing a travel trailer, which is imminent. Pros / cons to new / used, purchase extended warranty or not, look for a dealer with most locations throughout country? Etc.

Should you purchase a extended warranty?

I shop around before buying the extended factory warranty. I've done this on my new ram trucks. My dealer offered me the warranty for 3900.00. I shopped via internet and could buy the exact factory warranty for 1900.00 On closing the deal I showed the difference in the price and they agreed...

    First motorhome advice needed

...said that, as a previous poster pointed out, every coach is going to have some kind of problem. I strongly advise you to get a good extended warranty repair policy to cover everything in the coach. I did on both coaches I have owned, and have used the extended warranty to get things...

    Question Extended Warranty

We bought an extended warranty for the 2014 Ventana LE because we were not the original owners (though the coach only had 3,500 miles on it when we bought it). Newmar does not transfer the one-year coach warranty to a subsequent owner, though both Cummins and Freightliner did. That was the...

Question Do you do your OASIS service EVERY year?

Might not be the case when it comes to an extended warranty. On our previous coach the radiator sprung a leak after the mfg warranty had expired. This was a known problem but the extended warranty company would not cover the repair unless I could prove that I had serviced the radiator according...

Question Protection package for new camper

...And the cost is usually pretty high with lots of fine print making them a lot less useful than you thought when you bought it. I'd pass on most of the extended warranties, unless you're buying a Class A with tons of electronics and a $100k drive train. THEN I'd buy the extended warranty for...

Ford announces new EV F150 truck factory and some battery factories.

No way in this world I would buy the first production year of this thing. Give it about 3-5 years for them to work out the bugs in all this new technology. And BUY THE EXTENDED WARRANTY!!! It'll probably cost $10k but it'll be worth it!

Buying used Class A— seeking advice.

Idea of older coaches having bugs worked out, depreciated and things is got its points. Yes maybe out of warranty but you can get extended warranty. I think your research has provided what manufacturer have a good reputation and would stick with that. May end up being 5 years old instead of...

Question Do you do your OASIS service EVERY year?

Sure. Understood. I guess the question would be what actual item is. For example, you will see an oil change suggested for 6 months, yet not a single (honest) shop said that was necessary until a year at the soonest. I realize it’s a big gamble if you don’t do the research first.

    Extended and maintenance warranties

...I decided against it. Mine was $7,500. if you have that money set aside and growing in an investment, my thought is to forgo the extended warranty and pay for whatever breaks. If you are not good at saving or don‘t have the extra cash (just in case) then financing an extended warranty might...

Purchase extended warranty on used Winnebago?

First of all, IMHO that original purchaser didn't negotiate a very good deal on the extended service plan when he originally bought the RV. Secondly, a CW warranty is the last one you should purchase. Most of their stores are famous for doing shoddy work on rigs.

    Good Sam

...thing is look at cap cost. Some policies have max lifetime and individual repair pay outs. In reality you should do what makes you comfortable and gives you peace of mind. You can't make a bad decision either way you providing you buy a quality extended warranty if you decied to go that way.
