We got the extended because in “writing” it covers everything for 5 years. That is four years beyond manufacturer warranty. I do plan on doing a lot of my own basic stuff. However, I don’t want to pay out of pocket for my AC unit and labor to install.
Our warranty covers more than a few...
Well at least Mercedes extended their emissions warranty. I’ve talked to FL and Daimler about it and of course they aren’t too keen on the idea, but FL is a Daimler company just like Mercedes. I’m not done with this but I admit it’s wearing me down a bit.
Good luck with all that. Definitely beyond what I would tackle - I’m impressed. Are you out of warranty or did you just give up on the “experts”? Take some pics…
...thing is look at cap cost. Some policies have max lifetime and individual repair pay outs. In reality you should do what makes you comfortable and gives you peace of mind. You can't make a bad decision either way you providing you buy a quality extendedwarranty if you decied to go that way.
...It was a basic inspection (condition and operating systems). I don't think it was too detailed. The second one was from the extendedWarranty company covering my coach. It was much more detailed and included in the contract. Approximate cost was $500. Had I known they were going to...
...mean to be rude, purchased brand new rv from them and regretted every moment we spent in it!
Honestly if your interested in an extendedwarranty do some research there’s companies out there! I used Forever Warranty, yeah it costs me $199 a year for an inspection but I’ve used it four times...
...roadside and not the engine that can be extended out 60 months or 100K miles for roughly 1700.00. I am wondering if the existing extendedwarranty I already have which is 5 years or 50k miles would cover the chassis as well.
I will have to check that. @Neal, how many miles on your Ventana?
When it comes to Vehicles I'm a Ford guy. When I buy I know how log I intend to keep the vehicle. If I'm going past the factory warranty I will get an extended service plan that Ford offers and no after market. I also took one out on our Travel Trailer we bought in May of 2020.
Look around. Brokers can offer a lot more for a lot less. I am in the process of buying a used rig, and have been researching plans. MANY out there. Good Sam wanted 16k for 5 years through the dealer, I got better coverage for 7 years for 6,100.
I had a warning light pop on back in Ohio. I stopped and bought one of those plug in diagnostic tools to see if I should worry and it went out. Warning lights are like those people who keep calling and offering an extendedwarranty. They just want you to spend money.
I have questions about purchasing a travel trailer, which is imminent. Pros / cons to new or used. Whether to purchase an extendedwarranty, and if it’s best to get it from the dealer or a 3rd party? Also, is it advantageous to look for a dealer with many locations throughout country? Thanks!
Something to look at as you register all the products in the coach for their individual warranties…
While doing ours I added 5 years to both the washer and dryer for $90 each. The refrigerator and convection oven I can get a continuous warranty for about $15 a month for both.
A lot of the...
Think you will find very close to the same wording in all RV literature. The reason is building requirements. Temporary structures don't have the same codes.
You don't say wether your RV is a new 2022 or used. If it is new you should have a 12 month factory warranty that came with it, Or if used possibly the balance of the previous owners warranty. In any case you'll be able to purchase an extended service contract from one of many that are out there...
I have been following your posts about the full wall slide, and I am also becoming more educated than need to. Our coach is at newmar getting a complete retiling, after many tiles cracked with no replacement on the full wall slide. Good luck with the repairs!
...ago...with “coatings” is that they are applied by a 16-year-old with a spray can in the back of the dealer’s lot. YMMV
If you want an extendedwarranty, I suggest that you shop around rather than buying what the dealer offers. Those plans are rarely that good. Again, YMMV.

...it up on 6/1. During the 8 months I have reviewed and searched many sites, feeds, etc and 3 questions remain unanswered. Q1: best extendedwarranty or if needed? Q2: best wheel & tire emergency service? Q3: best roadside assistance. Being a newbie I have no clue regarding the answers to these...
