    BTW, if your in Florida, the Mobile tech from Newmar is not very technical. He is a nice guy, but is lacking in technical ability. I would question all information provided by him.

    Dometic only makes one type of Soft Start for the Penguin II, called the SmartStart. I have never seen this in any model year of any newmar.     Soft starts would help if not already installed to avoid load shedding. That's something else to look at, your load shed setup. Something may have priority over your A/C's. Try using burner on OASIS leaving AC I/II off and see if that makes a difference.

    Try comparing dip switches to see if they align? When I had someone install my first soft start he messed up the dip switches. Just compared the two.

    That is not how a soft start works, that plug-in device would effect all the power in your RV. I have installed soft starts on 200 HP motors to small half HP motors. They HAVE to be connected to the specific device (motor) and controlled to operate during start up (and sometimes shutdown)...

    Very,vary sceptical!!! Why??? 15k unit runs, not starts on 1500 watts. Or roughly 100 watts for 1k BTU. So you can soft start one ac on 3000w generator, but the second will exceed the capacity of the generator. But there's more! The generator has a power dip before the engine catches up...

    Finished up everything and turned my system on to test yesterday. All is well. Next week I will install two soft start units. Going to wait and see if I even need solar.
