We just bought a 2021 Coleman Lantern LT 215BH. We want to add WiFi capability to it. We have the Winegard Air 360 for TV/Radio reception but it doesn't allow for WiFi add-ons (the 360+ does). Any suggestion for adding WiFi that's the least intrusive when installing and/or mounting and economical?? Is it better to go with something that requires local WiFi provider (like at a campground) or get something that gives us our own "hotspot"??

Local campground wifi may give you better bandwidth, or it may not. Depends on the quality of their wifi service. Unfortunately, the same could be said of hotspots. If you're in an area that gets good signal, a hotspot may be the thing. But if there's poor or "no" signal - not so much.

Even if you purchased and installed the 360+ you would still have to purchase from a wifi carrier. The last time I checked prices to get 20GB a month I was going to have to pay well over $150 per month.

Not sure how you are going to be using your TT, occasional weekends during the season or long time traveling. We used a Verizon MiFi for several years but found out last year that it was actually cheaper and better just to use our phones as hotspots. We do take advantage of CG free internet on occasion but have found that only about 1 out of 5 have good speed and coverage.

I personally would never use someone else’s WiFi, just too many hacking risks. I personally use a basic verizon smart phone with unlimited (hotspot for 30GB at 4/5G then cut down to 500mbp for the rest of the month). It cost me $50 a month and no extra devices. My teen has her own phone so hotspots her computer for school work and I have one dedicated phone for the RV for tv streaming. So $150, 3 nice phones 90GB at 4/5G and then unlimited 500mbp for the rest of the month works awesome for us. I have yet to have a problem streaming tv or playing games with the kiddo.

I agree Kat with the security issues. We only do banking on the DW's ipad which never gets connected to outside internet. I suppose we are taking a slight risk with my laptop and our Iphones.

@mellis18 how will you be using this internet service and how often? Do you need it just to check emails and do some shopping from time to time, or do you want to stream from Netflix and other media providers as well? Are you going to be full time or a weekend warrior? If full time and you will rely on this service for your job, what kind of work does that entail? Lots of zoom calls, just basic email or something in between?

Answering these questions will help us make the best recommendation for your needs.
