Hi
I’m a newbie. I’m looking at a beautiful (possibly to my eyes only) 1966 Dodge Mobilodge. It has low original miles but to get my husband onboard I would need to replace the motor and transmission with a modern crate engine etc. It has a Chrysler 440 or maybe it’s a 318.
Any advice or ideas about cost?
Thanks!!

I am not a mechanic so no opinion on the work needed. From a money standpoint, it seems like that will cost more in parts and labor than to buy a newer working unit. If this is a restoration job like a classic car, then it may be different. Either way, I hope it works out.
Thank you,
Ken

I took a 413 out of a 1971 Dodge Travco, had it rebuilt and put it back in. Then had to take the tranny out and have it rebuilt.

I'll never do anything like that again.
