We have a 2002 Monaco Executive, purchased in 2015. During two year trip around country the Aqua Hot worked great. Mainly used "furnace" and "cool" settings. Never used "Heat Pump" setting. Starting in Oct. 2019 "furnace" setting quit working. Had service work, including Aqua Hot, done at dealer in Junction City, OR.. Service advisor informed us the Aqua Hot was repaired and we needed to set it on "Heat Pump" to heat the coach. Told him we had never used Heat Pump setting and had great results for the past four years. No change made by service. We now do not have heat via "furnace" setting. Not good in cold weather since "Heat Pump" setting does not work at below freezing temperatures. Seeking possible reason furnace setting does not work. Unit is Diesel fueled. Is there a valve on the unit itself that may need to be turned on? Could it be the Aqua Hot switch in the coach. (The switch for this unit is only a "On" "Off" switch, not Diesel, Electric, dual switch.) Small red light on Switch that shows it is on does not light up at this time. We have taken the coach to another dealer for repair of the Aqua Hot problem and did not get any better result.

If there is no light I would change it first but it seems like the repair shop would have done that. If it’s extremely cold you could have a diesel fuel problem.

It is very difficult to provide accurate information based on what you have explained. If you are not well mechanically inclined I would look on the Aquahot website for a certified repair facility near you. By what you mention about the dealer saying to use heat pump mode instead of furnace tells me they never fixed the issue and sent you on your way.
If you are mechanically skilled look at the owners manual. Aquahot provides a very good detailed diagnosis process to determine particular problems. If you don’t have the manual you can download one from the Aquahot website
Good luck!

Unfortunately it seems that there are a lot of RV dealerships that do not have qualified technicians available to work on the coaches they sell much less the older coaches that are still on the road. It's a shame. Diesel truck dealerships went thru the same issue about 15 years ago. They just weren't paying enough. SO the kids weren't becoming diesel mechanics they opted for Computer Tech field because it paid better. As more and more computers were added to diesel trucks the dealerships had no choice but to pay more.

You make a good point but that’s why companies have management. In this case it sounds like they both took the OP for a ride.

Totally agree with "EZ" about dealerships NOT having qualified service techs. I've been rving since early 80s and have experienced many issues including AquaHot issues. My suggestion is contact AquaHot directly. They have great phone techs and are very helpful. It could be that your coolant level is low, that stuff does seem to evaporate or just disappear. If that is the case, be sure to CHECK THE COOLANT FOR DILUTING INSTRUCTIONS. Some quarts are sold full strength and others are ready to add without mixing in some distilled water. If you continue to have issues and the phone techs do not help, I'd schedule an appt at AquaHot factory. If you are in Central FL, a factory certified tech is BRYAN 647.607.8286. He traveled quite a distance to get to our location and he was a tremendous help. Ours happened to be defective, he arranged for a new unit delivered by factory directly to our site. He then returned and installed new unit. You don't find too many roving techs willing to drive so much. He's truly a gem.

Thank you for the input. You are correct about the dealer just sending me on my way, but he got $ 13,000.00 in total from me on that one visit. I used the dealer in Junction City for over twenty years, but they will never get another penny from me. I have read the owner's manual several times and attempted some of the suggested fixes, but to no avail. I am going to contact a mobile mechanic in Belfair, WA. soon and take the coach to him. From his video on line I am surmising he will be able to correct my problem.

Thanks for the input. I have checked the coolant level and it is perfect. In fact, the dealer I dealt with in Junction City who told me I had to use the "Heat Pump" setting did a total service and refilled the coolant with the proper product (at a expensive price). I appreciate the suggestion about the Central Fla. location. I did just screw up slightly in the past month. I was in Arizona and I could/should have gone to the specialist there. I will be contacting a mobile mechanic in Belfair, WA. who I believe will be able to help me. He has a very good video on line.

Thanks for the suggestion. I kind of knew I should do that, but with your friendly push I will do it. I am contacting REV in Decatur to try to get a new switch for the AquaHot. Being a 2002 model Executive could make it a little hard to get the exact switch.

I would doubt that the switch is bad. The switch will not light if the Aquahot is not running. Please be careful in selecting that Mobile Tech. Be sure he is a qualified Aquahot Technician or your problems could certainly continue. As mentioned previously, I would contact Aquahot directly or through their website to locate qualified locations/Technicians in your area.
Regardless of who you have work on it be sure to test it yourself prior to handing over the payment.
