We’re partial to Longhorn RV Resort in Niederwald, just SE of Austin. Nice location away from the homeless, friendly staff and a great little lake for fishing.

"Near Austin" covers a huge area. Do you want to be a little more specific? North, south, east, or west? The traffic especially on I-35 can be a killer at times and I mean that literally and figurately.

You are safe in any of the RV Parks in Austin. McKinney Falls State Park, Stone Oak Ranch is new, Evergreen RV Park, La Hacienda RV Park, and the aforementioned Longhorn. These are some I have experienced.

BTW, welcome to one of the friendlier RV forums.

Its an old park with very small sites. If you have a smaller RV, it may work but I could never get my 43 Ventana in any space. It is near downtown and there may be homeless in the area. Unfortunately, the mayor of Austin has turned a blind eye to the homeless situation.

What's a good rv campground near Austin, Texas?
I stayed at Oak Forest on the east side this past New Years. No complaints.

Just a bit of current happenings in Austin. There is some effort to move the Homeless out of downtown.
These folks are not going to vanish so you might want to understand where these folks will show up locally.
