Anyone remove the towel hook on the bathroom door? It looks like there is a screw in the bottom, but turning for days does not seem to loosen the hook. Supposedly it just slides on to a backplate, but nothing .I have tried gets it to budge much.

Typically it is a set screw on the bottom which you just loosen then it clears a baseplate to allow you to lift it off/over.

And, typically that set screw requires a hex (Allen) wrench. If you don't have the proper size, it may feel like the set screw is turning, but it is just the wrench turning in the socket.

That is what I am used to. Will try allen wrenches again. I cannot see i there to determine what is there.

Can you use a mirror or take a photo of the bottom of the fixture so that you can see what's in there? I have found cell phone cameras to be very useful for this kind of thing.

Excellent idea. Unfortunately, the hole is so close to the door, I camnnot get a clear picture. I may try my endoscope camera or just attempt to drill it out, at some point.
