Im just now really getting back into the site. The start of the year was not very good.

My brother who was struggling with throat cancer ended up getting terminal lung cancer. Being single I took care of him a lot until his death the end of May. My brother was taking care of my mother who is mostly blind and deaf moved in with us for a short time until we found an assisted living place that she loves and is close by to us so we can come over once or twice a week.

During that time I ended up with Autoimmune Hepatitis in January. I couldn’t eat, turned yellow, etc. I got on medication for that and I am finally pretty close back to normal. I just got off the meds and my stamina is getting better.

Things are looking up now. My youngest daughter got married the end of June to her 5 yr boyfriend. We’re very happy to see that. It was a simple wedding with just the parents In attendance. There having a wedding party tonight. :)

Twila and I finally got out with the RV the first of July for 2 weeks. We went to West Virginia for Twila’s sisters 50th wedding anniversary then stayed to cruise around and see the sites. We the went to Gatlinburg to a reunion of some of my old military buddies when we were station in Germany. We had a lot of fun there including a black bear going through the RV park to see what was going on.

I also decided to retire. 25th of June was my last full time working. I’m working just a couple day a week to transition some of the stuff I was doing to another person.

Its been a crazy start of the year, but it is getting better. :)

Wow, I'm sorry to hear of the struggles you faced and sorry for the loss of your brother. I'm glad to hear things are on the up and you got your coach out and could breath some campground air again. Keep the wheels turning and keep us posted.

Welcome back!

Just saw this thread. So sorry for your loss my friend. You're right, it was a rough start but hopefully all will get better as the year comes to a close. Take care and enjoy yourself during retirement.

Hope you do it better than me. For some reason I just couldn't relax and found myself working harder after I retired than I was before. But I'm practicing, and I may get it figured out soon. Sure hope so anyway.

Jim
