Hello Fellow RV Peeps. We just left Bend, OR. This is our first RV adventure. We stayed at Bend/Sisters Garden RV Resort. It is a really beautiful, quiet place with all nice clean amenities just 20 minutes outside the city of Bend. We enjoyed the shops and restaurants in Bend. Alot of quaint little unique restaurants and shops in older houses in the old downtown district near the visitor center. As well as newer shopping & dining in the Old Mill District. After touring Bend we stumbled across a small town on hwy 20- Tumalo, with an excellent steakhouse & food truck area just a short drive away from the RV resort. We didnt even notice this place on our way out during the day. It came to life at night with outdoor party lights creating a relaxed inviting ambience. Highly recommend this area for the Late Spring and Fall. This can be an area where they have smoke from wildfires burning close by in the drier months of August & September. Definitely may want to watch for the first good rainfall in October to happen before camping here. You may be planning a trip through the Cascade Mountains over to Crater Lake. The Cascade Scenic bypass is a beautiful route to take. The roads are good for large RVs but not recommended for most of the scenic viewing pull offs at Crater Lake. I recommend dropping your fifth wheel or large motor coaches off and driving Crater Lake rim in your truck or pull behind vehicle. Their are plenty of rv parks to choose from but this is a popular destination so make your reservations a couple of months in advance. Happy Trails.
