I will be traveling to Cody Wyoming in a few months. I will be traveling west from eastern Wyoming. I will be towing a 40 ft 5th wheel. What’s the safest route through the Big Horn Mountains going west?

I've gone both ways. 16 from Buffalo,Wy and 14 from Sheridan, Wy. 16 is a longer route but a little less mountain driving. More semi's on this route. Rt14 mountain driving is very doable. Take your time. Use engine brake! I've been over both in motorhome with car hauler 75' long. Never get in hurry, if cars get behind pull over to let by when you can. You will love the scenery either way! Beautiful drive!
