Anyone out there having problems with blowing tires on a regular basis? I have a toy hauler with 3 axles and I keep blowing tires.

Are you seeing excessive wear on the tires prior to them blowing? Have you checked the date codes on the tires?

Most blowouts are caused by one or more of these: 1) Tires underinflated, 2) RV overloaded, 3) Tire damage from road debris, 4) tires dry rotted.

I make sure air pressure is 75lbs. Tires are 4 to 6 years old. Always covered from the sun. I am still running one original tire. 15 years on original and no signs of defects. Trailer is rated at 18000gvw. Tires size 225/75R/15 like stated on vin tag.

I would agree with Neemer. Gmink you are just asking for trouble with 15 year old trailer tires, that's crazy to me. I replace my tires every 5 years regardless. I've had one blowout and it wasn't fun as I was in a bad spot. I keep my tires out of the sun as much as possible, make sure they are inflated properly to what it says on the side of the tire and use a tire pressure monitor system.

My last RV had D rated tires from the manufacturer. The max loaded weight of the RV put these tires right to the max as well. Sure enough had a blowout. I put new tires on and made sure they had an E rating (handle more weight) and never had a problem since. Good luck.

This last incident caused a lot of damage. If it doesn’t get totaled I am going to go to a bigger rim and tire. Go to a 12 ply, 16” wheel.

If nothing else go to a LT225/75R15 or a LT245/75R15. Light truck tires are much heavier than car tires. I think you have too much load for the tires. Just curious how did you come up with 75 lbs as the tire pressure? A TPMS would be a good investment too. Seeing the tire temps might clue you in to a tire that's getting too hot before it blows. You can also keep an eye on the tire pressure.

The fifth wheel we sold last year had E tires and after several blow outs I went to a G No more problems not one more blow out. Loaded we were around 12,500. Under the max for the tires bit we were close to max weight. I say you may need to step up to the next rates tire. I’m guessing you have E rated tires.

Also get rid of cheap China- bombs, if that is what is on there.

Avoiding china made products is difficult if not downright impossible. That's where they will get us. Forget cyber wars. We'll be so busy replacing all their crap that that we'll have our heads down and wont see them coming.
