We bought a very clean, nice 16’ 1988 Casita that is in really great shape save for the anode in the hot water heater. I cannot get it out for love nor money. The head of it is stripped out but there was a pitcock in it. Removed that and bought an extractor that is now spinning in the hole and I cannot get it out.

Any ideas would be appreciated.
If all else fails, how much is it to remove the old one, purchase a new one, and install it?

Thanks for any help you can gI’ve!

Tom

Wow....sure don’t. But welcome aboard.

Welcome..

Easy outs need to closely match bolt size. Having a pilot hole is a big advantage. Just yesterday I had to remove the remaining part of a quick disconnect from my compressors manifold. I too tried an easy out to remove it without any luck. This is what I did.

I drilled the fitting out just leaving the thread then using a 'o'ring tool I picked the thread out of the hole. You can use a tap to clean out the remaining pieces if you want.

Another option is a repair machine shop but one must consider a new water heater.
