So acquired this camper a bit ago to work on rebuilding and ran into a small problem. Previous owner said it was a 75 fleetwood prowler, but the more i dug into this, trying to find the manuals, the less made sense. The confusion increased when I looked over the title for the VIN. It had a 12 character number instead of the normal 17. So I set to work trying to find its VIN plate and have had no luck at all.

In the research I've done, it seems to be somewhere in the M-20 family, but cannot figure out which part, as the weight and measurements don't line up right for any of them.

What i do know about it is its around 20' in length (tail to ball), 7'9" in width, the tounge shows a gross of 3000 lbs. On the front, it has a large 'K' on the window shield.

Attaching some outside images of this little cat. Hopefully someone here can identify this thing or point me in the right direction to find its VIN plate. Any help on this would be wonderful!

Have you contacted Fleetwood?

Planning on it monday morning. When the thought occured to me it was already too late.

Also an updated piece of info: was able to find the date of manufacture on an old written sticker. Had ro pencil rub it to catch the imprint. Date notes was 1-6-75. Its also the same sticker where the weight was noted but all i got out of that was the front weight was 21xx. Rear weight was just too far gone to get anything off of it.

Contact Fleetwood! That company has been long gone. Rv manuals maybe a half page telling you to check the lug nuts and recommend to install a brake controller if you could afford the 39 bucks. If they were finishing that unit friday afternoon good chance they didnt bother to add a spec plate just ship it to the dealer so they could make that weeks payroll. Those were great times.

Travel trailers that old are just travel trailers. I would guess hartland maybe or just Prowler. Most of us that rebuild old (Vintage) trailers like to tell the history (PO, where we found it) that kind of thing. You know tell a story about it. We don't expect to get it totally original but keep as much of the appliances as we can and restore them if we want to keep it that way.

If we want a story, a classic, and a dream, we want a Vintage. But inside the RV will be the dream is ours. You won't find wiring or plumbing details. and the repairs to stop leaks will be as all RVs are, what stops the leak. All we can hope for is an understanding of the status quo of building methods in the day.

Might want to move this to the vintage trailer section. Not that we all won't find it under what's new, but it will be logged under vintage so google search results will bring in more vintage people.
