It will be here in less than 2 weeks! I do NOT even know how to hook things up and drive this baby.. yet! I intend to live in one spot for the 1st year though. Next year I'll be hitting the road a bit more. I can't wait for that either! Whoop!!! I got 2022 Ahara 325RL. I've been watching lots of YouTube videos regarding decorating, swapping out the original mattress, how long the LP Tanks last, etc etc.. feel free to chime in. Thanks! Congrats and welcome. Can't wait to see it when it arrives.

If you want a great mattress for a reasonable price from a US company with excellent customer service check in with Mattress Insider. They have lots of standard stuff and will custom build about anything. This is nice if you have room for a thicker mattress. And yes, most OE RV mattresses are pretty bad.

Ive used them to upgrade mattresses on 3 coaches. I had a coach with a 5” mattress but 11” to the bottom of a window. I had them make a 9” mattress for me and it was wonderful. I also had a class C with a really tight fit for the OE 60” wide mattress making it very difficult to make up, so I had it made 58 1/2” wide. I also had them add 4” in length to that one. The third was a cut corner and it fit perfectly, and had three different types of foam for a firm cool feel. So theres some ideas for you…..

As for customer service, a little anecdote: A few years ago I ordered a custom mattress from Mattress Insider, and because of a family illness back East I had to leave unexpededly and didnt have time to mess with the RV, including unboxing and installing the mattress. So I didnt take the mattress out of the box until I returned home about five weeks later. When I did unbox it it failed to expand to the proper thickness of around 8” - it stopped at about 5”. This was completely my fault, and when I called ro ask if there was anything I could do to improve it, they said no but they would send me another free of charged and asked that I dontate the other one if it seemed like it might be useful to someone.

Ive read about the “mattress in a box” products you can buy from Amazon or Walmart, perhaps a bit cheaper, but when you can get this level of quality and customer service from a US company making their products in Colorado with KNOWN materials, I wouldn’t even consider some cheaper product from China or wherever made of who-knows-what. I might scrimp elsewhere, but not on something I sleep on.
