Looking for some advice regarding a charging issue I’m experiencing with my inverter setup. Here’s a breakdown of my system:
- **Batteries**: 2 new 6V Trojan batteries
- **Inverter**: 2000W Renogy inverter
- **Generator**: 4000W Onan generator

When I first turn on the Onan system, I get a charging rate of around 400W, but after a minute or so, it drops to approximately 30W-80W. The meter indicates that the system is still charging, but I’m unsure if this is an average charge rate or if it should consistently stay closer to the initial 400W.

Could this drop in charging rate be normal, or is there an issue with my setup? If it’s not normal, what could be causing this?

For context, I did the installation myself with 0 and 1 AWG wires, so I’m wondering if I might have missed something during the hookup process. Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Maxx
