Our Cruse control has stopped working. It began with a
Jerking" situation when trying to engage it, to not working at all.
I took it to a large Cat repair company and they replaced the entire brake assembly at a large cost. That had no resuly at all. I found a control swithc for it and replaced that. The only "improvement" was that the fast idle would engage but only the first step to 1000 RPMs. But it wouldn`t raise RPMs higher as it should.
Our 1998 Damon Intruder is powered by a Caterpillar 3126 HEUI Diesel which now has 70,000 miles on it.
I do not intend to take it back to the Cat dealer again, and I`m hoping someone on the forum can offer some help in diagnosing the problem and a solution.
Thanks,
Rj

Well, you need someone with good electrical skills to diagnose it for you.
A schematic would help, but any tech worth his salt could figure it out by testing a few circuits
Spped signal, rpm signal, brake on off signal, power , ground, set, acclerate and resume switch test functions should reveal whats wrong
Sorry I am not there. I am sure I could figure it out
