Yes, someone told us to delete the DEF system would cost @ $10,000. Bypassing the DEF heater sounds better.

More like $3000 if you just do the ECM “tune” and leave all the equipment in place, but still I believe its best to leave the system intact, learn how to baby it along, and try the simple fixes first.

You should be able to do it 20× over for $10K, I guess it's who you know. The superfluous, heavy, fragile, unreliable equipment yanked off can be sold for a pretty penny too.
