Any one buy a motor home off of Ebay? If so would you do it again?

Personally I would never do it in the first place. Too many other options. But maybe that is just me. I have been burned on EBay and don't use it any longer.

My only real experience with eBay, someone suggested I sell my 1972 9’ p/u camper. I just wanted to get rid of it as we had just purchased a used 37’ class A. Put it up for bid and figured if I could get $500 I’d be happy. I ended up getting $1800 which was only $200 less than my Dad had paid back in 1972.

I had a good experience but this was over 20 yrs ago and with all the other choices today, I think both as a buyer or seller there are better options.

I've bought many vehicles off eBay including 6 motorcycles an F150 King Ranch P/U and a Jaguar S-Type with only 13,000 miles on it. I've not had any problems. But I highly recommend seeing the vehicle first if possible or having it inspected by a 3rd party. Also I like to have a "conversation" with the seller. If they won't answer emailed questions very well or give very short answers then I move on to the next deal. I want an open and honest seller to deal with.

Bill, your experience highlights the reason why I would never buy a motorhome on eBay. People get in a bidding frenzy and the price goes up way beyond the value, I've used eBay a few times over the years for some specialty stuff, but rarely have found any "bargains." Stuff is mostly overpriced by the time it sells. Using eBay is good for sellers; not-so-much for buyers IMO.
