My wife and I are finally living our dream and doing a month long rv trip in western USA! Nervously excited. We are going to spend about a week in Utah in all the parks. My question is are the roads wide enough for a class c 25 ft long, 10 ft wide camper. Looking at alot of the winding roads makes me question that. Thanks in advance and ANY tips for first timers is very welcome

Welcome aboard and to honestly say…..I have no experience out west but I assume e so since people RV there all the time.

Wow, I didn't know campers could be 10' wide. I thought the max width allowed by law is 8'6" for travel on roads. Maybe you mean with slide extended?

The website and video they have on cruise america says 10 ft wide, I believe that means with the mirrors extended out

Hmm, never thought about the mirrors - good point. Could be. I'm focused on my wheel tracks (or the toad in my rear camera). for the front view I have noted wehre the center marker lines up with a couple objects on my dashboard to keep close to center. The narrowest road I would drive on is the two-lane county road to our storage facility. And I'm frequently met by dump trucks, since the guy who owns the facility also has other businesses. We focus on keeping it steady and never had any problems. I don't know how wide that little County Road is but it must be near minimum width for a 2-lane. We've seen many of those cruise America motorhomes around and they all seem to have the mirrors contact 😆. I'm guessing that you'll be fine, if you just avoid the rare ridiculous roads - you'll know. Hope you have a WONDERFUL trip!
((I edited this for some ridiculous voice-to-text mistakes - Siri needs to learn Texanese.)

Cruise American uses Thor Majestic 23A as their main model that size, here are the specs.

  • Exterior Length: 25 ft.
  • Exterior Height: 10.7 ft.
  • Exterior Width: 8.3 ft.
