Exhaust condensation leaking

Anyone have condensation leaking from the weld points on the exhaust pipe? Is this normal?
 
It sounds like the welds are not done very well, but you will get condensation out of your exhaust if the engine is not run for a while in humid areas. As exhaust cools the water vapor in the air condenses to a liquid and rests in low spots in the exhaust.
 
Condensation is normal.
 
I know condensation is normal, but I did not think it was normal to drip from a weld point in the middle of the exhaust pipe. If water is dripin fto a rusty looking weld it seems that exhaust fumes would also be leaking from the same spots. The rest of the length of the pipe is clean and dry. I will get a picture of it later.
 
On our Canyon Star, there is a point about 2/3 down the pipe between the engine and the exit point that drips until it is fully warmed up. A couple of feet from the muffler. I first noticed it when it was new. When I crawled under and inspected the weld, it appeared that there was intentionally a tiny pin hole in the weld. I thought that was really weird. I called Newmar and they got Ford and Morryde on the phone. They both confirmed that the pin hole was intentional to drain some of the condensate prior entering the muffler. I check it from time to time and it still appears the same.
 
I posted some info on exhaust pipes a while back. Look at the info on inspections for your answer. The muffler on my truck has a hole I assume for draining the water.

Note water is a byproduct of combustion. Hot air will hold on to the moisture where cold air will not hold as much water.

Make sure this is where the water is coming from rather than a designed outlet if you will. If in fact it is a leak that developed in the welds it should be repaired.
