When hitting the open roads and enjoying some camping, do you look forward to any beverages of choice? When sitting on your campsite patio, what's your beverage of choice? Summer time for the scene.

let me set the scene a little more...

It's early summer, or late spring depending how you like to see life. It's 9am and still a little cool outside. This morning it's 55 or so and the grass is damp from the morning dew. The campsite is still overall quiet since it's a weekday and all the weekend warriors, both trailer kind and people kind, have left to return to the grind of daily work. You just finished starting a fire, and the flames have just started to lick the side of the top logs in the fire pit. You sit down in your worn out camping chair, the one your wife keeps wanting to replace, but it's like your recliner, worn in all the right places. As you finally start to feel the heat of the fire on your face you reach out to your cup holder where the most exquisite Bloody Mary resides, most might not consider it the best in the world but to you it is. Over the last few years you've perfected it to the best you could ever want, extra spicy with three sticks of crispy bacon sticking out of it. The drink, the setting, the peace, all come together to be one of those moments you just want to stay in.

Nothing is more perfect than freshly squeezed lime juice, a few drops of Citronage, and the exquisite yumminess of Silver Patron tequila, all shaken well then poured into a cool glass! Perfect for whatever happens to be on the grill that evening.

I am an equal opportunity drinker. Buddy's are here pass the Coors Banquet beer. Relax a bit bit with wifey why not Strawberry margaritas. If you want to get up and do it, crushed ice with Mudslides.

Or on a Sunday afternoon with a bunch of different guests how about Alabama Slammers. But after a hard day at the G shows a nice bottled of French wine, aka Louis Jadot, preferably a Beaujolias.

Geez did I miss any?

Oh boy, my favorite is 3 cubes of ice, a generous pour of Jack Daniels, about 3 fingers high, and water. Just don't drown the Jack in the water. Of course, this is only after everything is set up and secure. Then for dinner, my favorite is either Chablis, Chardonnay, or Merlot, depending on the cut of Ribeye, or Salmon and sauteed mixed vegegatbles. Finally, top off the evening with a nightcap of Courvoisier Cognac brandy straight up.

On longer trips I travel with a couple cases of various varieties and vintages of our wines and some select Napa Valley wines. I enjoy comparing California wines (one thing they can do right here) and specifically wines from our property, to regional wines discovered while traveling.

Hope we all end up in the same area sometime so we can set up a little wine tasting event! That'd be fun!

I prefer "Sun Iced Tea" -- set the jar out in the late morning, with lots of lemon or lime, and by end of day its nice and dark. I make the tea a day ahead of consumption, so there is one in the fridge ready for consumption, and one on deck being made.

It’s good to see someone besides me flying high on caffeine. A hot cup of fresh grind dark roast coffee while watching the sunrise anywhere USA. Gets my old heart pumping full speed.
I forgot to say, an ice cold or two fingers neat of most adult beverage will slow it down for bedtime.

Always fresh ground coffee in the morning. Kenya AA, or Sumatra. Really like to try the craft beers in the different areas we visit. Especially the local breweries. Evening, one of our wines that we carry with us depending on what’s on the grill. And it’s hard to beat a Huckleberry liqueur while watching the fire die down.

I know you're a long ways from Franklin, NC. But if you find your way out this direction, stop by the Lazy Hiker (yes, I'm an investor, lol) and try out my favorite beer called, Evil Porter. It's just awesome!

For us, we will pass on the French wines as we prefer California or Oregon wines. A great Walt Pinot Noir from Sonoma or the Central Coast or a Russian River Chardonnay will do just fine!🍷🍷🍷

A nice cold India Pale Ale out of the second fridge in the rear outer compartment of my trailer.

My wife loves my Long Island iced tea, and she was determined to have them when we go camping. Now she loads up her grocery bag with the bottles. I had to chuckle when she first did, you'd think we were running a bar out of our camper.

Bourbon Old Fashioned, and a cigar when the wife doesn't give me that look! If look than skip cigar.

My morning coffee, or evening diet ginger ale. Boring, but good!

Now, in a perfect world (perfect body), I would love a mixture of goji berry, maraschino cherry, and prune juice, mixed to taste with a quality overproof (151) rum. Mmmmmmmmm!

I’ll have either a local IPA or red ale, thank you.

After the kids are in bed, a spiked hot chocolate would be nice.

Vodka martini (shaken, not stirred). Or A Maker's Mark with a splash of water.
