Need guidance...... I purchased a 2020 Ram 2500 (6’-4” bed) with a ram box. My wife and I want to move from our travel trailer to a fifth wheel. But, as I understand it, the ram box limits my options on fifth wheel hitches. Can anyone who has this setup give me some ideas on what will work? I’ve read that it will take a sidewinder to make this work, but they are expensive in addition to me buying the fifth wheel setup for my bed. Thanks

Be careful with a 2500 and 5th wheel and your available payload. Here. is a handly website to figure out what. you can handle it. Take the payload off YOUR truck yellow door sticker, not of the websites. The payload is the limiting factor on 2500 because the manufacturers use a 15% pin weight to rate but most 5ers are close to 23% pin weight in real life.

The Ram boxes are a problem with a stand hitch on the 5er. As you turn the hitch on the 5er. will hit the Ram boxes so you have to be really careful. You might want to research a gooseneck type hitch.
