Hi everyone im a newbie to the RV world. Im looking forward to traveling in my 14 ft RV Trailer. Its light weight 2200 lbs. Looking to purchase a SUV does anyone have suggestions?

Welcome @Funsun to RVForums. I don’t have any recommendations for you but think others pulling TT should be chiming in.

Welcome.

How big an Suv o you want? I pulled a 25 ft trailer 5500, with a Ford Expedition. I had an Explorer before my RV days, but they were both as close to flawless as you can get.

check towing capacity on smaller RV’s. If you can afford it, get one bigger than your current need. Someday you may want a larger trailer. It happens often.

Welcome from Georgia! We own a Jeep Grand Cherokee that has the Hemi engine. If you don't want a truck then this is an excellent alternative with the same basic drive train and power as the Ram 1500 truck would have. I think the tow rating is around 7200 lbs. Good luck!

The thing about the Jeep Grand Cherokee is there are 12 (TWELVE!!!!) models to choose from. So you can make it as basic or as luxurious as you want. They have a V6, a 5.7L Hemi, a 6.4L (392 CI) Hemi, and a SUPERCHARGED 6.4L Hemi to choose from!! We have the Trailhawk version with the 5.7L Hemi V8. It has every single option they offer except the CD player. (Can you believe a $1500 stereo with 18 Harmon Hardin speakers and a powered 8" subwoofer doesn't come with a CD player?) We love the vehicle!! Ours has air ride suspension so it ride great. I'm not sure I'd want the air ride if I were towing a heavy trailer but it would be fine for one like you're talking about. I swapped out the 18" wheel/tires for 22" wheel/tires. But jeep offers everything from 16" to 20" from the factory.
