The addition of WiFi is a nice touch to be able to get alerts when away from the RV.

It claims that Wi-Fi will let you connect anywhere in the world, but it isn't clear what connects to its Wi-Fi signal to get to a gateway.

Well! Because you must be someplace with power to use it! My guess is the park WiFi. Or other like your peplink

This simply means you'd need to connect it to an available Wi-Fi such as in your coach like a Pepwave, Jetpack, etc.
