Planning my route East and making resort reservations. I was told yesterday that they have shutdown the bridge going over the Mississippi to Memphis on I 40. Apparently they have found major cracks in it. Anybody have info or know a detour to Nashville?

I-55 is the detour but it's reported there are considerable traffic delays.

Some confusion here, the I-40 Bridge that cracked over the Mississippi is in West Memphis.

Thanks for this. I am headed toward Nashville 45 foot with toad. I don't think I want to negotiate streets in town. Thinking of taking 55 toward Caruthersville then cutting over on the 412 to the 40. What do you think?

Not sure where this "cracked" business came from - I see it all over news reports. That is definitely not a crack - the beam is flat broken.

It's broken alright. Should have had it made at Hansen Steel! Cheap plug. Our company!!
