I noticed Tiffin actually does this and I'm not sure why Newmar does not. The entry door handle should be designed for easy access and that includes when on jacks. For most of us it's typically a shoulder or higher reach to open the entry door as it is designed currently. Consider lowering the entry door handle location for easier access.

When the steps are in, my wife cannot reach the door handle. I'm 6' and I need to reach for it over my head. I was surprised to see how high up it is, so a bit lower would be nice.

Mor/Ryde actually makes a handle extension that lowers the handle about 8-10"
