Making a walk-around queen bed at the front of the trailer was a bear until I discovered this easy tip. When you start, pull the sheet only up to where you like it. Then fold each side back as if you were opening the bed to crawl in. Smooth it out, but tuck nothing in, especially not at the bottom of the bed. Now place the blanket exactly how you like it at the head of the bed. Again, smoothe it out and fold back as if you were turning the bed down, but tuck. In nothing. Finally lay the spread on as you like the finished product to look. Again, no tucking yet. At this point, pull the mattress away from the front wall of the trailer. Tuck in the spread only. The sheet and blanket are already turned down and you won’t have to wrestle tucking them into such a tight space. I do this by lifting the top corner of the mattress on each side, then push the mattress back into its proper position.
Last step! Fold the bottom of the spread up onto the flat part of the bed. Lift the mattress and tuck in the bottom of the bed and the bottom corners. Then replace the bedspread bottom that you had folded. Voilá! Your bed will look a little lumpy at first, but you will get better with practice.
When it’s time for bed, lift the top corners of the mattress to release the bedspread. Pull it down far enough so that it folds freely. The sheet and blanket are already turned down; just crawl in and enjoy a good night’s sleep!
