Good afternoon! I have a 1999 Fleetwood Prowler 825Y travel trailer with a manual slide out. Last weekend, while opening the slide-out, I felt the crank give (almost feels stripped) when it was about 5 inches out. I was able to crank the other way and fully close and secure the slide-out with no issues. I am now unable to open the slide. Any ideas on what could be the problem and how to access the gear assembly?

Thanks!!

The gears are probably stripped. Or the sear pin has failed. Either way, you need to look at the mechanisms that run that.

Had a similar problem with my landing gear. It ended up being a missing tooth on the gears.

I'm no expert but that's where I'd start looking. It's a very simple rack and pinion system.
