My husband and I will be taking a trip for the first time in an RV from Virginia to Texas. We live in Callaway Virginia and my husband‘s family lives in Austin Texas. I have ALS and unfortunately will not be around a lot longer so we thought this would be the best way for me to see everyone and take last trip.

We have never taken a trip this big before I need help mapping out a direction as well as stops needed for breaks. Would anyone Be kind enough to help us out?

Welcome @JeffandJen and I'm glad to hear of a great journey ahead for you. I highly recommend RV Trip Wizard but I also use AllStays.com for campground searching. A lot of great options for you to use. If you have any questions please ask away in the appropriate forum as needed and we'll gladly assist you.

Just a heads-up. Some days are more demanding than others. Because of that I think keeping to a schedule may not be what you need. If I were to schedule I would plan short days and fill the time in with an app like field trips to see as much as I possibly could.

Others know trip planning software better than I, all I know is schedules can get to your nerves.

One more thing. To avoid stress I don't give relatives a solid date for a visit, and call when the day is through so they know we are OK.

I commend you for taking the initiative in taking the trip. You will see some amazing sights. I use RV Trip Wizard to plan my trips and find it very powerful in its listing of campgrounds and sights to see. Have a great trip.
