Little Intro about myself :
Never owned an RV but rented one in the past. Joined the forum to get insights and suggestions from experienced RV community in our journey to own an RV. Personal life married with two kids who are toddlers. Trying to buy a Class C used RV with Bunk Beds in Northern California.

The best offer I have now to buy a used RV is below, I will be very grateful if the community can give me suggestions if this is the right deal or should keep shopping around.

Our preference is a Class C with Bunk Beds.

MAKE: COACHMEN
MODEL: Leprechaun 32BH
YEAR: 2018
MILEAGE: 16000 Miles
ENGINE: FORD 450

Asking Price: $49,999
Closing out with Taxes: $55,102

Also, some suggestions on things to look out for before buying an RV will be really helpful. Thank

Welcome.

Price sounds reasonable. I would get an independent inspection. Find An RV Inspector – NRVIA

Also, be prepared to fix things yourself, and save a lot of money, whatever RV you buy. Also, if this is from a dealer, check their reputation for both sales and service, before you buy. There is much information in the forums. Don't hesitate to ask any question.

Thanks for the reply, Yes I'm getting an inspection with Level 1 certified inspector. Hopefully everything comes clean.

$50,000 is the full retail price of the ones listed on RV Trader. I would offer $50,000 drive out. I hate to pay the full retail price but then that's just me. BTW...welcome to the group.

I did ask for lowering the price but of course, they are not willing to as the RV has low miles compared to others in the present market including RV Trader site, Where most of them are listed at the same price with 2x more miles.

My recommendation is to never ask if the seller would consider lowering the price. Instead, if you are truly ready to buy, offer the price you are willing to pay. Be prepared for a rejection. If that happens, thank the seller and tell him/her that you will need a few days to consider whether you would be open to raising your offer. My guess is that you won't get to the door without getting a counter-offer.

I countered (as you note above) when we bought ours recently and the seller immediately accepted my counter. DARN!! I should've come in lower. So, advice to others, don't be afraid to come in outrageously low. You WANT your counter to be rejected at first.
