I've been researching RV's for at least 15 years. I know I've got to get one at some point. I've got it down to the exact one I want at this point. I'd say we are about a year away, and I'm here to learn as much as possible so I'm ready to hit the road!

Welcome @BT212 - great to have you with us. Ask any questions you want to learn about and I'm sure others here can help you. Type of RV, floor plan, where you intend to use it, how often, etc.

Welcome from Georgia!

Welcome to the forum, BT212, and good luck on the purchase. 15 years of research . . . I am in in awe!!! We're full-timers, and our research into our first RV purchase lasted 2 days. Seriously. We rented a class C for 5 days to "try out RVing", and we spent the last 3 days of that 5-day trip shopping for an RV to buy. We drove the rental to various RV dealers and bought a Class A on day 5. We've been on the road ever since, and we're enjoying the best time of our lives.

One piece of advice on your purchase - buy the coach for its floor plan. The most important element of living in an RV is the floor plan. I heard the recommendation on "Outside Our Bubble" to actually spend hours hanging out in an RV before you buy it. We spent most of day 5 actually inside the coach that we ultimately bought (at the end of that day). Stand in the shower and pretend you're showering. Look in the cabinets and think about where you're going to store the toaster and the blender and the plates, and stand in the kitchen for a while and think about what it's going to be like to cook there. How many hours a day will you be watching TV - we'll sit where you'll be sitting, and spend an hour watching TV. Look in the cargo bays and think about what you'll put in there and whether you'll be able to fit it all. Be sure the floor plan is right for you, by actually spending time inside, not just by looking at the floor plan on a piece of paper. A printed floor plan isn’t anything at all like actually living in that plan. Just my 2 cents.

Best of luck, and safe travels!

Ed
