Hello everyone, my name is David, my wifes name is Annie, and we've been "wannabes" for awhile, been to shows, dealers, bought the shirt... But now its time to really get involved and this seems to be the site for that! Looking forward to reading, asking questions and then to see you on the road. We currently live in central California, but have family whos "encouraging" us to move to Missouri. Time will tell. Thank you for the add, let the fun begin!!!

Welcome from Wisconsin.

Hay! Thats my brother's name too. He lives in Northern CA. I suppose its a common name, but a good one!!

Welcome, plenty of experience available to help you here.
I always recommend people rent a few times, different types of RV if possible (travel trailer/ Class C etc.) to help folks learn if the reality matches the dream.
Recognize we are in strange times, some types of RV's are in short supply and others while available may not have the quality to give you a trouble free experience.
I also mention to folks that floorplan and livability are critical to long term happiness, especially for the DW.
Lastly, also recognize that banging your house along on the highways takes a toll, even the best built machines will need care and feeding. It is best to be brutally honest with yourself on your ability to provide the care needed, or be willing to fund someone else doing it.

Best of luck, enjoy your quest! See ya around the campfire.

Welcome from Texas! We were foolish and plunged into our first purchase with a 36-1/2 foot DP.... loved it! But sold because we couldn't justify the expense of insuring, storing, equipping, and maintenance at the time since we weren't retired.
Just bought a second one and we're happily planning the next 12 months, trying to cram 5 years of adventure into one, haha. I told my DH that we don't HAVE to do all that in one year, and he laughed and said "you never know'. That said, I'm planning like mad, hoping to at least hit some high priority stops.
ONE problem - we recently 'surrendered'it to the 'rv hospital' near us, to have some upgrades...but it's been 2 weeks now and they don't even reply to emails, much less answer calls. We remember them being like this even before Covid - we've actually made the 2-hour round trip a couple times to light a fire under them.
But they do good work, very reliable. Low staff turnover.
I guess we'll have to drive up tomorrow and rattle some cages.

Welcome from Texas

Welcome. Poke around. Ask questions. We're here to help you scratch that itch.
