New member with Qustions about my MaxForce 10 engine

My 2013 Holiday Rambler Endeavor MaxForce 10 engine has gone kaput! Repair people tell me it needs new engine with a $67K parts and labor price tag. Does this even sound logical to anyone?

Not sure how the mechanic pricing is calculated but rebuild kits are relatively inexpensive <$3k.
As long as the crank and block are serviceable. Not sure if you can do an in frame rebuild or you have to remove the block from the bus.

BTW Navistar Hit with Second Class Action Lawsuit over Engine Defect

Thanks Joe, I’ve been told the trouble all started with the EGR unit which ended with a bent crank and rusted cylinders which will have have to be reworked. I’m thinking a new motor is the route to go but the idea of 28K for the new motor along with nearly 40K for labor is a bit excessive.
