We've had campers before but this is our first 5th wheel. I'm pulling it with a Ram 3500 w Cummins diesel with no problems at all. The problems we've had have been with the RV. The very first day we picked it up we had a problem with the rear kitchen slide. When opening it up it started out at an angle. Had to stop it, bring it back in and try again. Went through this process several times until we got it extended. Electrically disengaged it numerous times to try and resync the motors. Took it in to Holiday World in Willis, TX and they fixed it but now it's not aligned properly and the seal, when slide is extended, has a gap at the top that allows rain to come in. We've been traveling with it that way until we get to Colorado Springs. Well, then the slide on the other side started acting up. It would extend about ten inches and stop. After numerous attempts to retract/extend it went out the ten inches and stopped permanently. Had to electrically disengage it and manually push it in in order to travel. We are now awaiting parts for it at Cousins RV in Colorado Springs.
I think we're going to really like the RV once we get these problems taken care of. There are some other minor ones that we're handling on our own.
