Just joined. Looking to buy a small travel trailer to live in quite a bit when I head east from Montana to visit grandchildren in Virginia and Florida. Looking at a slightly used Forest River Flagstaff 21DS. Any advice or comments? Also considering an R-pod, NoBo, or Surveyor Legend. Need something decent (filet mignon) on my burger budget🤣.

Welcome! If you have any links as to what you're looking at feel free to share. The floor plan (living space) is key so you're happy with your home away from home.

Be wary that small trailers can have some small holding tanks, and it's not unusual for specs to be waay different from what you actually get. If you're planning on staying at places will full hookups for the entire trip, not likely an issue. If you want to be self contained for more than a day or two, tank size may become a factor.

Be wary of any Forest River product from about 2017 on. Do your homework and get reviews of models you like. Ask questions in forums specific to the unit you are thinking about.

We had a FR Grey Wolf and it was a great little TT. They all have issues that will need minor corrections even if you buy used from someone that has fixed some of those when bought new. Remember, these are traveling homes that absorb bumps in the road of life while traveling. Things will get jarred and need fixing. Learn to fix most things on your own.

BTW- Welcome aboard.
