I am contemplating a trip to New York with our travel trailer 17ft in late December never gone this far from home (Miami) in the trailer but was thinking of surprising my wife for Christmas since we had her 50th birthday planned a couple of years ago then COVID so since I have 2 weeks off in December thought it would be interesting to do a campground maybe New Jersey then spend day in NY any thoughts on someone who has done this trip.
Thanks
Fernando

It will be cold for a travel trailer not even sure there will be campgrounds open.

Further north in New England the whole region seems to close up for the winter season around early October. Hard to find a place to even dump tanks. If I were planning a winter camp trip I’d lean towards the Gulf Coast, although that has proven pretty wintery at times too.

Good advise above, you better check and see what camp grounds are still open. Also be prepared for inclement weather....aka like SNOW STORMS.

You are not in the south anymore.

Rich W. Is right. Most, if not all campgrounds in the northeast are closed by Oct 15. You may not want to drive a car up here in a winter snow storm, much less pull a trailer.
