Howdy! Yep another senior newbie🤣 Figure I'm gonna be on the road for 6 months, so I'd better find a way to meet new camper friendly folks. An Escape member as well. Figure everyone has great places they've been to, and since I'm going south for the winter... I hear Quartzite is a cool place, but someone else suggested Yuma. Hit both a see what's right for me! ALWAYS looking for affordable camping, especially past New Mexico, seems like there's no much out there(?). CHEERZ! KsKgen

Welcome from a Canadian. Wintering in the desert offers plenty of options from Luxury resorts to BLM boon docking that allows you to park your rig for free and everything in between. The desert area is vast. Just so you know, the higher the elevation the cooler the temps will be. Sedona is pretty much as far north as we like to go and we travel as far south as Puerto Penasco, Mexico. West to Borrego Springs, California and East to the New Mexico border. The terrain and vegetation varies from area to area as well. If you are looking for greenery, Tucson area is quite lush (for a desert). The Yuma area is quite barren as is Quartzsite. The Parker area to Havasu along the river is pretty nice. Again, the desert is huge. I'm sure you will be able to find a spot to your liking.

Safe travels

Darrell
