Hello first time RVer here. Sold 4600 sq ft home of 25 yrs and hubby and I purchased site unseen 2002 Gulfstream Conquest 8301. Now we’re happy campers! Is that too quirky? Both retired He is formally are used car man and I did recruiting and training all over the US but primarily in the Midwest region for Ty ( The beanie baby company ). For now we are in Florida as my mother has been ill She has multiple health issues is in a wheelchair and an oxygen so we’ve been putting her house back in order and repairing everything around the house I really look forward to learning about RV life as we are surprised at how comfortable we are. We have a little two-year-old Yorky Poo named Natasha three children and five grandchildren.

We’ve had a few hiccups but nothing major, praise the lord! One though I find quite bothersome. We haven’t been able to open our awning My husband I think is actually afraid to even give it a try and he will tackle anything! Any advice would be more than greatly appreciated Then I need to learn about leveling and why my refrigerator doesn’t seem to be that cold We did replace the flooring which I’m very excited about next is getting rid of the old wallpaper and lightening up the look. I included pictures of the old floor and the new. I included pictures of the old floor and the new we were surprised that there was already vinyl tile on top of laminate flooring so we remove them both and went down to the wood. How is the rotted spot next to the refrigerator so we were able to cut that out and replace it as well. I’m wondering how difficult it is to replace the carpeting in the cockpit area ( not sure what that area is called )

Welcome aboard! I am sorry to hear about your mom’s health issues. God Bless you all and if that is the original fridge, may just need a new one possibly. Someone will chime in here that has experience there.

Thank you so much. It is the original fridge so you are probably right. I had better start researching. I feel blessed to be able to be here with my mom. The city gave us until the 23rd to move the motor home as we have been parked in her front yard and while there is room in her house to sleep with preferred to spend our evenings in RV I’m planning to meet with them and see if we can get additional time due to her health and Covid. We literally only leave for essentials but I can’t imagine having to go someplace where we could potentially become infected and bring it back to her She would never survive

I am a newbie to RVing. I am a high school science teacher a couple years short of retirement. I just purchased a used 33ft Thor Windsport coach. This will be my home upon retirement. I jumped all in and committed. Being a Newbie I have a lot to learn YouTube tutorials have been great. I am wondering if there are any RVers around Gallup, New Mexico that wouldn't mind being a mentor of sorts? Someone I could ask advice?

Welcome from Georgia! When my Norcold RV 'fridge went out I installed a residential 'fridge. It was the best upgrade we've done so far!
