After the Great Gravy Fiasco of 2021, I was forced to buy a new camera. I'm not savvy about cameras or how to operate shutter speeds, ISO's or any of that stuff. I'm a point-n-click camera guy. And I ended up with the Nikon Coolpix B600, which is suiting my needs quite well.
It doesn't have a view finder, which I miss, but I'm getting used to it all the same. The camera uses rechargeable batteries, which were included with the camera. The 60x optical / 4x digital zoom is amazing in my opinion, especially for a camera that costs about $350. The picture below was shot from inside my house, through the dinning room window, at two deer that were at least 300' down the driveway.
If you are looking for an inexpensive camera that shoots some really nice "dummy proof" photos, I would recommend looking at the Nikon Coolpix B600.
