After reading of several people dropping and breaking their MCD remote I thought it would be nice to have a spare for several reasons. I understand you can program the new remote from the original one using the p2 button (s). My questions are:

1. Are the two p2 buttons under the rear cover the same, ie can you press either one?
2. Is pressing the up and stop bars on the front of the remote at the same time equal to a p2 button Press?

The directions shown here, while seemingly really simple, are a bit vague to me and say nothing about using the up/stop as p2.
