Could charging the house battery with the cover removed (step) generate enough hydrogen gas to set off the propane alarm?

I should think only if the battery is being over-charged would this possibly be a problem.

Or if there is a bad cell. That is how I discovered I had a battery with a bad cell. The alarm kept going off. Upon investigation I could smell the battery. Took itin for testing.Sure enoungh, one battery had a bad cell. After replacing the battery, no more alarms.

Hydrogen will not set of an LP detector. If it keeps going off,
and it seems for no reason, it might have hit the end of its service life.

Thanks for the info.
