Just bought a used 2017 jayco fifth wheel and have been cleaning a getting ready for camping season. Noticed a propane smell from the propane locker. Did a leak test and found no obvious bubbling. Noted some connections don't have pipe dope or tape on them. Did observe some smell near the regulator. Could it be just residual I'm smelling? Anyone experiencing this before?

The smell is put in propane for that exact reason. If you smell it, there is a leak. Don’t ignore it. It takes only 4% saturation of propane / air to become explosive mixture.

I would check to see if your regulator is one of thousands that are being recalled.
