I have a 2017 F250 that I thought didn't have car play and found that it required having Siri turned on. So now I have carplay (took some getting use to - didnt like it at first) so that could be the issue. And of course the phone has to be connected by cable for it to work. You’d think it would be a blue-tooth thing. Probably is on the better radios.

My factory radio is a 2106 Clarion that was Newmar‘s expensive Nav option at the time. I’ll probably replace it with a Kenwood or Alpine. I’ve never been impressed with the Clarion and I never use the built in Nav. My only concern is getting something that comes with adapter cables so it can just be plugged in and stuffed in the dash. Maybe Crutchfield will have that answer for me.
